Children's Therapy

Gentle, Compassionate Support for Your Child’s Emotional Wellbeing

WHY THERAPY FOR CHILDREN?

Children's minds are naturally receptive, imaginative, and open—making gentle, holistic therapy particularly effective for young people.
But more importantly, children deserve to be heard, understood, and supported through their emotional challenges. They deserve a safe space to express what they're feeling, to be met with compassion, and to learn that they are whole and worthy exactly as they are.
This work is safe, natural, and empowering for children.

My Approach For Children

Deeply Compassionate

Creating a safe space where your child feels heard, understood, and never judged.

Gentle & Trauma-Informed

Never pushing, always honoring your child's pace and comfort level.

Family-Centered

Involving parents/caregivers appropriately and providing guidance for home support.

Areas of Support

Common Challenges Where We Will Work Together

ANXIETY IN CHILDREN

  • School anxiety or school refusal
  • Separation anxiety from parents
  • Social anxiety and shyness
  • Worry, overthinking, and "what if" thoughts
  • Panic symptoms or physical anxiety
  • Fear of specific situations

How I Help: Through gentle exploration and age-appropriate techniques, we help your child understand their anxiety and where it comes from. They'll learn tools to calm their mind and body, and gain confidence in their ability to handle difficult feelings.

CONFIDENCE & SELF-ESTEEM

  • Low self-confidence and self-doubt
  • Fear of failure or making mistakes
  • Bullying recovery and resilience
  • Performance anxiety (sports, exams, performances)
  • Feeling "not good enough"
  • Difficulty speaking up or asserting themselves

How I Help: We explore where your child learned to doubt themselves and gently reframe those beliefs. Through positive reinforcement and empowering visualizations, they reconnect with their innate worth and capabilities.

EMOTIONAL CHALLENGES

  • Difficulty managing anger or frustration
  • Emotional regulation challenges
  • Sadness, low mood, or withdrawal
  • Grief and loss processing
  • Trauma processing (age-appropriate)
  • Big feelings that feel overwhelming

How I Help: I create space for your child to express and understand their emotions without shame. They'll learn that all feelings are okay and develop tools to process them in healthy ways.

BEHAVIORAL PATTERNS

  • Sleep issues and nightmares
  • Bedwetting or toileting challenges
  • Nail biting, hair pulling, or other habits
  • Focus and concentration difficulties
  • Stress responses and coping mechanisms
  • Compulsive behaviors

How I Help: We explore what the behavior might be communicating and address the underlying emotional needs. Often, behavioral issues resolve naturally when the emotional roots are addressed with compassion.

LIFE TRANSITIONS

  • Family changes (divorce, separation, new siblings)
  • Moving or changing schools
  • Friendship difficulties and social challenges
  • Identity and belonging questions
  • Loss of loved ones or pets
  • Adjusting to change

How I Help: Transitions are hard for young hearts. I provide a stable, compassionate space where your child can process their feelings about change and build resilience for navigating life's challenges.
